A wonderful, peaceful soul

Waylon has a wonderful peaceful soul! Initially he is highly leery, but also very interactive at a distance. Despite his cautious behavior he will warm to you with some patient coaxing. Once he does, he has a coat like a stuffed plush toy, and he loves to be petted all over. He will need time and patience to develop full trust. He loves the cat who acts more like a dog and they lay together occasionally. He kennels reluctantly but not terribly so and seems comfortable once he's in. Not great on a leash - so he will need a fenced yard.
Doesn't bark that we have ever heard but has a mournful baying voice like a hound on occasion while outside. He eats twice a day, morning and evening. Not particularly food motivated but does like ham as a treat and a little mixed in his dry food. Waylon’s ideal home would have another dog that he could play with and learn from, a fenced yard that he could loiter in as long as he likes and a nice consistent atmosphere with mostly adult interaction.
Medical/Vetting: Waylon has not completed his vetting. If the selected adopter is not near an HHR vet, this dog will stay with the foster until vetting is completed. Vaccine boosters will be completed 3/10. Neuter is scheduled for 3/27 at SAAF in Springfield
